Sedgwick County sheriff’s vehicle gets a new look

The Sedgwick County sheriff’s office has introduced a new look for its community liaison vehicle.

The vehicle was on display Monday at Exploration Place, and it features images of Kansas wheat and the Keeper of the Plains statue, as well as the seven-pointed star of the sheriff’s office.  Lieutenant Tim Myers said the decision was made five months ago to give the vehicle a new design.  The design was created by Chris Garcia and the Brickmob design firm and a vinyl wrap with the design was placed on the vehicle by Eagle Enterprises and Spectrum Installations.

Myers said the design captures the essence of the community and the bond that the sheriff’s office has with the people of Sedgwick County.   He said the design had a slightly higher cost than normal but the benefits will far exceed the cost.  He said it helps when deputies are in the community for special events and it’s a valuable recruiting tool.

The community liaison vehicle is used for DARE programs in schools and it will also appear at other community events and activities.   Myers said there are no plans to put the new design on any other sheriff’s vehicles at this time, but more vehicles could get the design in the future.
