1. US Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy called on Congress yesterday to require warning labels on social media platforms, like those for tobacco and alcohol, to highlight their potential harm to children’s mental health. I don’t think it’s just the children, there are plenty of adults who have had their mental health affected thanks to social media.

2. Today when the Wichita City Council meets, the big topic of discussion is going to be water.  Mayor Lily Wu is asking Wichitans to start voluntarily conserving water now as a way to avoid mandatory conservation,  as the drought levels at Cheney lake are not getting any better.

3. If you had “Flesh Eating Bacteria break out” on your 2024 bingo card, put an “X”there. In Japan, health officials are scrambling to contain a break out of Streptococcal Toxic Shock Syndrome (STSS), commonly known as “Flesh Eating Bacteria.”.  Almost 1,000 cases have been reported wich it already more than last year’s total.

4. Just a couple weeks away from the 4th of July and an interesting study from Wallethub on the most and least patriotic states. Virginia comes in at #1, Kansas is 14th and Arkansas is dead last. Surprisingly, New York is 2nd to last.

5. and let those nose hairs grow, that’s the latest medical advice and studies have now shown a connection between plucking out those pesky nose hairs from an extremely sensitive area and an increase in your allergy symptoms.  If you didn’t know, nose hairs are there and intended to keep things like dust and pollen out. The other upside to going all bushy in your nostrils, it gives the dental hygienist something to look at while they’re clearing your teeth.
