The Kansas State Fire Marshal and Garden City fire investigators said a natural gas leak was the cause of a home explosion last weekend.
The explosion left a home in the 800 block of West Fair Street with significant damage. A resident was taken to a hospital and later flown by medical helicopter to a Wichita hospital.
Investigators determined that the explosion happened when the resident turned on the stove, and the issue was isolated to the gas line inside the home. The investigation is continuing.
