Strong winds are blamed for a power outage that affected a large area of east Wichita on Monday.
The outage was reported around 3 p.m. when winds blew trees onto power lines. Around 1,500 customers were affected. Crews were able to restore all power Monday evening.
Wind gusts were as high as 50 miles an hour on Monday. Lighter winds were in the forecast for Tuesday across south central Kansas.
