Reno County deputies have arrested a 52-year-old Hutchinson woman for stabbing a man several times and setting his house on fire.

A 65-year-old man called for deputies Tuesday in the 5300 block of West 43rd Avenue.  He said a woman set his house on fire, stabbed him and then walked away.   While deputies were searching the area, a 911 call came in from a nearby home in the 5300 block of West Nickeron Boulevard, and a man reported that a woman had walked into his home and tried to start a fire.

The woman was arrested and booked into the Reno County jail for attempted first degree murder, arson, attempted aggravated arson and criminal threat.

The stabbing victim was taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center for injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.  Reno County firefighters put the fire out in the man’s home, but the fire left extensive damage.
