South-central Wichita Neighborhood plan to be presented during Saturday event

A pop-up event is scheduled for Saturday to unveil the new neighborhood plan for South-Central Wichita.

The South Central Neighborhood is bound by Kellogg on the north, the Arkansas River on the south and west, and Washington and the railroad tracks from Pawnee to the Arkansas River on the east.  It includes the Broadway corridor.

The first neighborhood plan for the area was developed in 2006.  Recently, the city worked with neighborhood groups, including the SoCe Neighboring Movement to develop a new plan for the area.

The pop-up event will include a bus tour to highlight the neighborhood community organizations and businesses.  There will also be a mini-car show, live music, and kids activities.

A farm-to-table lunch will be served on a first come, first-served basis.  Presentation of the new neighborhood plan will follow immediately afterward.

The event is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.  For locations and more information, click here.
